Movie Synopsis & Review

Avengers Endgame has both defects and virtues at the narrative level, naturally winning the arm wrestling first. However, the aforementioned defects are a logical consequence of the action chosen by the protagonists to resolve the main conflict. A risk that the film not only accepts, but embraces, not infrequently with humor.

However, it is necessary to mention with a slight severity that the Thanos of the first film, the one who knew how to be such a multidimensional antagonist, in this continuation loses many of those dimensions. Because although in that film it was the main source of conflict in each scene, here it is nothing more than an aftertaste; it is out of a more logical than dramatic necessity. The antagonistic forces that exert pressure on the protagonists are others, based more on dealing with the secondary effects of the outcome of the previous film than on a direct action of the antagonist.

Avengers Endgame is a three-hour film and anyone who engages in this infrequent task in commercial cinema (the shorter the film, the more functions, and therefore more money), has to do so convinced that the long duration has A because. Usually that explanation, that justification, is the development of the characters and themes , issues that many times need slow cooking to reach their fullness. These two issues are palpable in Avengers Endgame, but it is not necessarily the case, since the long duration of the film is justified by a mantle of action and dramatic tension without respite. We are not talking about simple obstacles; The risk is so great that each conflict is a huge setback that puts the entire operation at risk. Intense setbacks that say present practically from the beginning of the film. If that’s not getting the viewer’s attention… hooking him… catching him… I don’t know what could be.

To appreciate this film, and at the risk of mentioning the obvious, it is not only necessary to have seen the previous ones, but also to have loved the characters. Well, for those lovers it is made. Those lovers that Marvel Studios has captivated for 11 years. Those lovers you’re rewarding with this movie. If you readers are in that group, this review surely guarantees that you will be paying for an entire celebration… a party if you will.

On the other hand, if you are not in that group and are looking for a film that can stand up for itself in its own right beyond an association with previous films, it will be difficult for you to cope. If you look for defects, you will find them, and for them you will attack being absolutely right, either by simple right to opinion or objective appreciation of what good narrative is.

But inside everything, at the end of the show, not a few will feel that little moment of desolation, similar to when one finishes reading a long novel. That moment where you begin to remember everything you have experienced as a spectator. That moment that makes you say “Now what?” A feeling that can only be given a good ending, and this movie is like that.
